The knowledge that victor Frankenstein seeks, is the power to recreate life. This is forbidden because many people believe only God should have the power to create life. I believe that for victor Frankenstein this was worth it at the moment he created this monster when he says "It's Alive". Victor at this moment felt like he was God, because he had just accomplished what no one else other than God him self had done.
