The riddle that will never be solved

I am a very furry creature.

I have a short tail and small base.

I have large round eyes.

My favorite hobby is jumping.

I flee the scene when a stranger catches my eye.

I have large ears that flop up and down.

My buck teeth will saw through the hardest object.

My habitat is a small crate or sometimes in a small tree.

If I were to run a 40 yard dash I would be an Olympic runner.
