Frankenstein interpedited by Anthony Scioscia
The knowledge that Victor seeks is how to create life and he is willing to do anything to achieve his goal. This knowledge that he is striving for is forbidden because god is the only one who creates life and Victor wants to play the role of god "Now I know what it feels like to be God". His quest for this knowledge was not worth all the pain and suffering his creation caused him after the monster killed all of his friends and family.
